Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can model 30601 heat two induction-ready pans at once?
Yes. The product page and 30601 manual identify two 8-inch induction plates with separate controls. When both plates are in use, each is limited to 900 W, so their one-at-a-time 1,800 W peaks are not simultaneous.
Explore this need in the finder →Does each plate have its own temperature and timer controls?
Yes. The manual shows separate left and right panels and says each plate must be set separately. The displayed temperature is a control value, not a wired food probe measurement.
Explore this need in the finder →Will a selected temperature confirm that a wired food probe is included?
No. The exact page offers no complete box list and the exact manual does not document probe-based operation, so package inclusion is unknown and cannot satisfy an essential probe requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →The Nuwave PIC Double, exact model 30601, is a wide countertop appliance with two 8-inch induction plates and a separate control panel for each. Its current Nuwave listing identified model 30601 and showed sold out on October 23, 2026. That is a direct-store observation, not a claim that the model is discontinued or unavailable from every seller. The assessment below follows Nuwave's exact product page, English manual marked model 30601 and matching Quick Start Guide; it is not a hands-on review.
Two pans can run, but each side has a power boundary
The two plates have independent time and temperature controls, and the manual says to set each plate separately. The documented choices are 900 W or 1,800 W for a plate used on its own. When both plates are in use, the manual and quick guide say each automatically goes to 900 W. The total therefore tops out at 1,800 W with both running; the two individual 1,800-watt peaks are not available together. That is enough for a two-pan meal, but it is a real tradeoff if you expect two full-output burners.
For comparison, the newer-named PIC Double Pro 30603 also caps the whole appliance at 1,800 W, but its model-specific manual offers 900, 1,500 and 1,800 W total settings and automatically apportions the selected budget by temperature demand. The 30601's control is simpler to describe: 900 or 1,800 W, with 900 W assigned to each side when both are used. Neither is a substitute for a true full-power pair, and the manuals do not promise identical heating under every pan or recipe.
Separate setpoints, presets and a Warm function
The 30601 Owner's Manual provides six temperature-button presets from 100°F to 575°F, with adjustments in 5-degree steps. Its chart says the displayed temperatures represent a test using 1.5 liters of oil in a Nuwave 3.5-quart stainless pot. Treat a temperature choice as the appliance's cooking setting, not an included probe that reads the center of a roast or a guarantee of the same surface temperature in every pan. Nuwave documents a one-hour default cook time, an adjustable timer up to 99 hours and 60 minutes, and a clock-based End Time function. The Quick Start Guide says the clock is individually controlled for each panel.
A useful post-cooking option is Warm: the manual describes 100–200°F, defaulting to 120°F for two hours. It is activated by pressing Low and Med/Low together, rather than by a single key labeled Warm, and it follows an initial cooking cycle. The machine also has stage cooking and saved programs. The 30601 manual gives different maximum stage counts in different sections (nine in the Stage Function discussion and ten in its programming guidance), so the exact total is left unresolved rather than promoted as a differentiator.
Use the manual's pan dimensions as a limit, not a promise of even edges
The exact 30601 Quick Start Guide says cookware can be as small as 3 inches in diameter and recommends a maximum width of 12 inches, with slower heat transfer near the outer edge of larger pans. It shows an 8-inch heating coil beneath each surface. The 3-inch wording is cookware diameter, not an expressly stated magnetic pan-base measurement; if the base dimension is essential, the manual leaves that bridge open. Use compatible ferrous cookware centered on a zone. A magnet is only a first check because the manual warns that weak magnetic properties may still produce inefficient operation.
Counter space, household electricity and setup
The product page lists dimensions of 23.625 by 14.25 by 2.625 inches, 13.85 pounds, 120 V, 900/1,800 W and up to 15 A. The exact English manual's rating page says 120 VAC, 60 Hz and 1,800 watts for household use. Keep the cooktop on a stable, level, nonmetallic counter; leave at least 3 inches clear at the back, sides and top; and keep the vents open. The manual explicitly prohibits outdoor use and advises a separate electrical outlet from other operating appliances. Wattage controls do not turn this into an RV, boat or outdoor recommendation.
Who it suits, and its documentation caveat
Model 30601 is worth comparing when you need two conventional flat-bottom induction pans at once, want two independent control panels and can accept the 900-watt-per-side ceiling while both zones run. Its exact page includes a recipe book in the What You Get section and states a one-year manufacturer's warranty. The page does not give a complete inventory of everything in the box, so no cookware or wired probe is assumed included. Nuwave's h1 and model line identify PIC Double 30601, and its English model-specific documents agree; one sentence in the page description says “PIC Gold,” which appears to be copied text and is not used to assign Gold features. The linked Spanish 38-page complete cookbook is not substituted for the 30601 English manual.
Read the PIC Double Pro 30603 assessment if three dynamic total-power settings and a three-stage routine appeal more than the 30601's 900/1,800-watt switch. If built-in installation matters, compare the Duxtop 8620BI/BT-K35, whose manual documents a countertop and a built-in arrangement; its own combined-power limit and installation requirements still need checking. The 30601 manual does not document built-in installation.
Cleaning and exact instructions
Unplug the unit and wait for it to cool before cleaning. Wipe the glass and casing with a damp soft cloth and mild soap, do not immerse the appliance, and gently brush debris away from the fan area. The surface can retain heat after a pan is removed. Before using an exact unit, check the model sticker and follow its current booklet. Paper, software and setup details
Cookware fit and manual discrepancy
The exact 30601 Quick Start Guide specifies cookware at least 3 inches in diameter and pans up to 12 inches across; larger pans are not recommended because heat transfers more slowly at their edges. It does not identify the three-inch measurement as magnetic pan-base diameter, so that matcher field is unknown.
Electrical and placement note
The exact 30601 manual rating page states 120 VAC / 60 Hz / 1,800 W and household use only; the page gives 120 V and 15 A. The manual prohibits outdoor use, asks for a separate electrical outlet from other operating appliances, and requires a stable, level, nonmetallic surface with at least 3 inches clear at the back, sides and top. No cord length is listed.
